Coffee On My Monitor Again
This thread is for Buffista quotage. Posts that are profound, witty, or otherwise deserving of immortality go here. This is also Shrift's source for the BRQG, so be aware that if your words end up here, they'll also end up there. Finally, please note which thread spawned the quotage and please white-out anything that might be spoilery to Un-Americans.
I can't believe I'm the first person to post this:
Rick, reflecting on parenthood:
I'm not sure what I expected of parenting, but wasn't this kind of time travel to the middle ages. Suddenly vermin, human waste products, economic deprivation, superstition, and loss of autonomy impinge on your life in unexpected and inescapable ways. It's like a self-imposed vassalage to your little Lords. And this, without much in the way of festival days.
Of course, it's also the greatest thing ever, with every single day with them better than all of the days that came before them. How can all of these things be true at once? It is the koan of parenthood.
billytea, in Movies:
I have one question: 3D or not 3D? (Oh, look, it's Hamlet, adjusted for inflation.)
Missed this in the movie thread and just nosed a beer. Oh my, that made me laugh.
The Point of Gaming, from -t and billytea during the latest BSG (in the Gaming thread, of course):
-t: Um. I don't know what I should be trying to do here?
billytea: Well, obviously you should be trying to entertain me, which means MAXIMUM 'SPLOSIONS. I'm not really sure how that works in this context, but see what you can come up with.
In F2F5, context schmontext:
Shir: I can't imagine a better place to be murdered by a clown.
Jessica, in Joss-verse. Spoiler-font for Agents of SHIELD.
They come from warring factions on the planet of Winsome Big-Eyed Brunettes. Syke's parents were warriors of clan Just Say What You Mean, Goddamnit, while Raina's people hail from the Kingdom of Oblique Referrals.
In Natter:
brenda m: Off to Costco to purchase dog bed number 8.
Sparky1: I picture her perched on top of all of them, whining that she can still feel the pea.
In Buffy N Angle:
Glamcookie
DW is showing our 4.5 YO his first (edited) Buffy ep: Song selections from Once More, with Feeling. "I want to see her sting more vampires!"
Nattery goodness:
brenda m - Yes well, ever since the white man came to Pennsylvania, it's been all downhill. You didn't see people's cell phones getting stolen in 1675, I tell you what.
Steph L. - Because of the open-carry muskets.
