Anyway when vamp!Willow visits the Bronze the second time, she moves in on an innocent girl called Sandy. Now it is exactly the same Sandy who Riley flirts with, lets bite him and stakes in season 5. Did everyone else notice this, or am I just really slow?
It was noticed on the boards at the time of the episode, Kassto.
Anya points out in OaFA that Halfrek has "coughDaddyIssuescough". It appears that Halfrek's vengence is directed at "helping" children. If Cecily and Halfrek are the same person (rather than just being characters played by the same actress), Cecily's issues wrt William culd be rooted in bad parenting. Maybe her own father was a bad poet and layabout and lost the family fortune (at some point in the past).

or maybe she got pregnant?
I like to think that Cecily ended up as Halfrek b/c one of the clods who abused William at that party got with her and then cheated on her
So, you figure ME just didn't know when the Crimean War was? (Not that I doubt that, you understand -- chronology's never been their strong suit -- just asking.)
On Cecily and Halfrek-I just thought that was a meta joke for Buffy fans because they used the same actress.
They had Halfrek address Spike as William once. The whole thing I find majorly annoying. Why put it there if you're not going anywhere with it? Why use the same actess and pretend we won't recognize her. Contrast this situation with the lovely continutity of Chanterelle/Lily/Anne or even Vamp Sandy.
I postulated that Halfrek took on the Cecily persona at the time when she was spending a lot of time doing vengence (Justice? hee) around Victorian England.
So of course she couldn't be bothered with a suitor, and why go for the kill when you can go for the pain?
Halfrek is the kind of demon who would have said her "beneath me" speech to William for just that reason.
:)
Edit: missed Palendromic numberslut.
If Halfrek was getting her vengeance on in the Crimean War (1854-56, thank you, Google), she'd have already been a demon in 1880.
This is where the continuity of Halfrek and Cecily doesn't match up for me. In "Lies my Parents Told Me" Williams mother refered to Cecily as either being the daughter of such and such or of the such and such family. I don't remember which. If she had alreadhy been a vengance demon for over twenty-five years, would she still be associated with a family in London?
Well, if you take Daniel's idea, and the ability of vengeance demons to create a persona/family for themself, it could be plausible.

Well, if Vengence Demons can alter timelines, insinuating themselves into victorian society wouldn't be a problem. Even without warping, all you really would need is to have the "daughter away at school" be replaced with Halfrek.
