Now I did a job. I got nothing but trouble since I did it, not to mention more than a few unkind words as regard to my character so let me make this abundantly clear. I do the job. And then I get paid.

Spike's Bitches 49: As usual, I'm here to help you, and I... are you naked under there?

Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

quester, I'm so sorry. If you were my sibling in my city you'd be REQUIRED at Thanksgiving. I can't imagine why your actual sibs are so awful.

My most recent therapist had a dog, a treat-craving small poodle-y mix named Louie, and he was lovely. I declare dog-having a perfectly cromulent reason to choose a therapist.

So, I realized after I sorted everyone into exchange groups that I don't have your emails to send your card lists. DOH. If you signed up for the card exchange, ping me at msgullo@gmail.com and I will send your card lists.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

Today was a big ball of stress at my already stressful job. this morning they brought a bunch of people into a conference room and told them their last day of work would be Jan 11. there was a lot of crying and most of the people took the rest of the day off. It was aweful. I couldn't really stop working to ask what was going on, I had to sit at my desk working watching it happen in front of me.

Now I'm really worried about how secure my job is. There was no detectable reason why these people were let go. there were managers and good workers, so it's put us all on tinder hooks. If I were young enough to feel I could always get another job it would be better. But, I turn 64 this month. I'm nobody's ideal hire.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, quester. How unpleasant in the moment and worrisome for the future! I'm sorry.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Aw geez, quester, no wonder you're stressed! That sounds like a truly terrible way to handle that.

It's the way they handle everything! They are a hot mess of a company, and we are being sucked into thier vortex. It makes me wonder how they are a successful world wide company. Unless they are just good liars.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Help! I need a barometer. Is "have a conversation without getting angry with me" an unreasonable demand? Is there a better way of phrasing it that doesn't sound so much like tone-policing? I just want to be able to like, solve problems without everything turning into an argument but also wondering if I'm the asshole.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Laga, that's a tricky one. Because people are going to feel what they're going to feel (like, no matter what you say, they might get angry). Although I need to emphasize that *how* someone expresses their feelings can be a problem. Except yeah, saying "Don't express your anger" sort of seems like tone-policing. Ugh, it's complicated.

I guess maybe approach it from the POV that includes both of you? Something like, "I'd like to have a conversation where both of us feel like our points are being heard." Would that work?
