Spike's Bitches 34: They're All Slime and Antlers

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Knock 'em dead, ND!

Well, not literally. They can't give you the job if they're all corpsified and gross.

Felicitations on the Anniversary of Your Natal Day, Laura! Wishing you cake, with candles, and a lovely year ahead of all your favorite things!

That Liv--she's even adorable with blue marker all over her sweet face! And it's so neat that Sara is a Buffista already--short training period, yes!

The eggs sound marvy, but I can't waaaait to coddle my eggs. Gimme 'em over easy, with whites set firm and yolks still runny, to eat over buttered, salted grits. Num.

I have eschewed grits for lo, these many years. Having had wheat taken off the table, and thus cream of/farina, I've turned to the processed-with-lye corn product of my yout', and have found it quite adequate for sopping up extra egg yolk. And along with my antipathy to ham, I seem to have developed an even more recent dislike of bacon.

I know, I'm scandalized myself, but what can you do? Smells yummy, tastes like ass. Salty, porkish ass.

Because books.

And along with my antipathy to ham, I seem to have developed an even more recent dislike of bacon.

I forgot to say! Sara is a bacon fiend. Fiend, I say. She would eat it every day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner if I let her.

Yeah, she's got some Buffista in her. I don't know how she feels about muffalettas yet, though.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Happiest birthday, Laura! You are one sexy mamajama, a fantastic friend and there are megawatts in your smile.

Go ND! I hope you absolutely nail everything today, and they beg you to accept your offer.

We had our second Little League practice yesterday. Frankly, this team may never lose a game. Okay, maybe I'm flush with crazy baseball optimism, but spring training is when you're supposed to be filled with crazy optimism. Also? All of the A's are healthy for the first time in a long time.

What is even happening?

Where's blue Liv? I must have missed a link.

Sara has been worth her keep in laughs, lately. What a cutie pie. Julia is also a big bacon fiend. She comes by it naturally, I fear.

Bev -- and I have no idea if you're interested, so if you aren't, just ignore this -- if you're missing the occasional baked good, there are a lot of wheat-free recipes that I've found through doing the WW Core program. Like oat scones that use oat bran in place of flour.

If you're interested, I can post/e-mail some. (Recipes, that is; not scones. Last time I tried to e-mail a scone, the Interbunny was down for 12 hours. Clogged up the whole works, it did.)

I was going to e-mail it after the scone. Apparently I should have e-mailed the clotted cream *first.*

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

I'm having a hard time replacing pasta. The kids love it in all its forms and they don't like the wheat free version. We're doing more rice these days.

Laura, many many happy returns of the day. You are my first Buffista, and what an awesome introduction to such great people. I hope you feel loved and happy today and all year.
