And he's just pulled the "other people talked about cocksucking" argument. Argh.

The Buffistas are an inclusive, welcoming, and flame-free community. Play nice, and you've found a home away from home. If you make personal attacks or offensive posts, or try to start a fight, you will be shunned. However, newbie mistakes are usually corrected gently and informally. Lurk for a while and you'll learn our language.
in addition to what was posted before about how one's suspended, etc.
I was afraid he'd do that... (in response to Dana's post)
This is doing my head in.
Fay, you're consistently funny; you don't go beyond the seaside-postcard level of crude. Don't think otherwise.
It's your community, do as you will and don't fret too much more. There's been a lot of discourse, I'm not going to cry if Stompy Foot goes Shack. I'd expect anyone here to tell me when I'm out of line, or ban my ass if I suddenly lost my shit and started making everyone uncomfy on a day to day basis.
Yes. Some people are oversensitive to a fault. OTOH, some people are insensitive to a fault. Both make me close the window and go someplace else. Ya know?
And, frankly, context is everything. We know Fay, and we know that (most of the time) she's kidding, and/or it's so overthetop it's funny rather than offensive.
This guy isn't funny, although I expect he thinks he is.
What Betsy said Fay.

I can see where a stranger could wander into a thread with crude banter among regular posters and misinterpret the usual and acceptable behavior here. When we read a post from someone we know it is easy for us to understand the intent behind the words. The same words can be used by a stranger and we are uncomfortable. Regular posters have joked about inappropriate thoughts of Dawn after OMWF.
I’m not defending the offending poster here, just asking that we proceed within the guidelines discussed before the board opened. They were worded well, imo.
I'm actually pretty upset here, and I think perhaps this should be a learning curve for me about being coarse. But I think what I'm finding most jarring isn't the coarseness per se, which I can handle, but rather the feeling - both with the MT remarks and earlier remarks about people being dorks or idiots or what have you - of a lack of respect and consideration for other people's feelings.
I know I'm guilty of being flirtatious & crass, but it's generally (always?) me that's the butt of my own jokes. Not slagging other people off.
But I think maybe I need to learn to think first and type later.

Actually, it was done extremely gingerly, along the lines of "God, I'm embarrassed to admit I noticed".
We're arguing about a difference in tone, and discussions of tone are always subjective. I realize that. However, I see a real boundary between "I am SO on the special train" and what was posted.
I'd like to see a polite warning, because the responses to our polite requests seem to be dismissive.
