Not having has never been the thing I've regretted most in my life. Not trying is.

My next radio show is tomorrow night. The segment title is Let a Thousand Mollys Bloom (inaugural show was a tribute to Molly Ivins), and I'll be talking to some political activists who made the move from blogging to action.

Wish me luck, and if you want to call in and talk about Texas politics (yeah, right) or Molly or what's going on in the news, I hope you'll join us.

You can also download the archived show in the almost unconceivable instance you have something better to do, and help me count the "uhms" in my speaking-cuz I'm trying to break myself of that on the radio...

/shameless plug

Also, as my contract gig is ending Wed, and I don't know what I'm going to do for income next, a dollop or two of the job~ma would be much appreciated.

And a paying radio gig if there's one to spare...

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

I wrote up an account of my experiences filming the White Castle commercial. It starts wordily here, continues even more wordily here, and wraps up succinctly here.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

I just sent out my applications for the graduate programs at York and Cardiff. I'd appreciate any -ma you might have to spare, because I'm really hoping for this!

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

Damn it. I have to take S to the ER again. She'll probably be in the hospital all weekend. Hopefully not any longer, but it's always difficult to tell.

All the ~ma you can spare please. Towards the LA area.

a missive from Robin's DH:

Hi, Friends --

Robin asked me to give you a report on her day today.

She came through her surgery with flying colors, and she is well. Surgery took a little longer than expected, due to extensive scarring from endometriosis, but other than that, no unforseen complications or difficulties. She’s groggy but not in too much pain right now, and happy to be finished with the surgery.

She’ll be back home by Friday, hopefully. Until then she’s at Providence St. Joseph Hospital in Burbank under the name “Robin Miller.” Please don't send flowers, as Jason is allergic to them.

Thanks for your good thoughts.

Best,
Jason

Our wings are not tired

I'd like to ask for a bit of sanity~ma. All of my applications and interviews with UCI have been done for almost two weeks and now I'm just in the zone of waiting to hear about the job. I think I'm slowly going insane. I really want this job and just waiting it about to drive me totally nuts.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Hello. I am not dead. REPEAT: NOT. DEAD.

Just really grey, but a nice shot of MAC blush should take care of that. I am swamped at work, and have no net at home. Zero, zip.

Oh, PSA: in addition to not being dead, my accountant friend "found" me some money from old accounts on missingmoney.com.

Try it! I got $50 back from old utilities and a dental thingie! My car's STILL in the shop, so $50 is like, whoa!

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Some interview~ma at 2pm Central today would be greatly appreciated. I have a chance at a direct-hire position (most companies only want to do contracts these days it seems) with a really good company and would love to get this job.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I'm home from the hospital! Recovery has been pretty smooth so far, except for the side effect from Vicodin which was sudden unexpected projectile vomiting. Trust me, not what you want to be doing the day after surgery. Soon as we figured that out, though, all has been pretty smooth sailing.
