What are your big sports? I know about the ice-hockey, but what else?
Here we just call it "hockey". Our other national sport is actually Lacrosse though curling is a national passion.
Buffy ,'Dirty Girls'

So, just saw the 7th episode season 2 of MI-5 (Spooks) and it's the one with the kid with the photographic memory. They subtitled his dialogue and that of his brother and their friend (partner?). Was this just a special thing for the US showing?
Oh God please let the All Blacks beat England.
Was this just a special thing for the US showing?
Yes! How insulting. (To the Americans watching as much as anyone.)
They only did it for half the ep too. It was really annoying.
For those who are interested, there's an article about the Booker prizewinner here. He sounds like a pretty interesting character in his own right.
I heart him for confessing to his massive debt.Seriously, it's the last taboo. Is that a dumb reason to read a book, or what?
I'm not sure that massive debt is a taboo if you're an author! (On the contrary, massive wealth is...although maybe not in the US?)
I meant talking about it, not having it. Everybody has it, but you're not supposed to say anything. I should have been more clear...forgot my audience for a minute.
No, I meant talking about it too, Erika! For some authors and other artists, particularly of the bohemian equation [edit: bohemian equation? I mean "persuasion" obv.], talking about how broke you are and how scandalously little you make from your art is part of the persona. (Which makes it a bit awkward when they actually start making money!)
Completely agree about debt being a taboo for the rest of us though.
