Okay, I was momentarily hopeful about the possibility of a fillibuster, but if that's the math, then fuck.

Really, I just have no words.

Actually, as much as I would like to see the Dems doing something to show opposition to Alito, I do have to go along with what AmericaBlog says:

Some day Democrats will learn what Republicans have long known. It takes a campaign to win an issue. When the Democrats and their traditional million-dollar non-profits learn that lesson, and implement it, then I'll be all in favor of a filibuster. But a filibuster without the campaign will not only fail, it will convince already spineless Democrats that the filibuster itself was a mistake because it was a filibuster, not because the filibuster wasn't supported with a real public relations campaign. Democrats will learn the wrong lesson from their failure, and they'll end up even wimpier/Caseyer/Liebermaner next time.

I have real concerns over the Dems' chances in 2008. If they don't suck it up and finally show that they are the opposition party, and not just Republicans Lite, than they no chance in hell of winning.

There is a very stupid messenger service which has lost a very important package of mine, and doesn't seem to understand that since they delivered it to the WRONG ADDRESS I can't give them the number where it was delivered. I can only give them the number where it was SUPPOSED TO BE DELIVERED.

Fuck fuckity fuck stab stab fuck.

Even better are garlic mashed potatoes, and if some of the skin is left in...yummmm.

ETA--Jessica, that sucks big time. Is there a NYC branch of the Ministry you can call?

ita, I am not lame. Not in the Bryan Adams song way, nor in the tiny Tim way. Notice how I didn't use you as the second example.

Mashed potatoes are the one thing that my office cafeteria does right--they don't make the garlic variety, unfortunately, but they do leave the skin in, and they serve it every Monday (Monday is Carvery day, with a rotating schedule of pork loin, roast beef, turkey, and ham throughout the month).
