Michelle, CBC has a web only station?, channel?, site? called Radio 3. It's not conventional radio though. It's set up like a magazine, with a new "issue" every week. It does offer concerts, in studio sessions, as well as streaming music. It's a neat concept, and it has great stuff on it, even if the Flash navigation drives me mad.

Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.
Michelle - i really like VH1's online radio. plenty of stations to choose from, they always tell you what is playing and you have the option of fast forwarding past a song you don't like.
PIXIES tonight!! Yay!
ION, I'm enjoying the new Tegan & Sara record. Not quite as quirky as the last, but good.
I just found out that the Pixies are coming back to Austin in late October. Unfortunately, I've already paid through the nose for Brian Wilson tickets that same week.
Pixies are playing at an arena here with Mission of Burma opening. Seems like a no-brainer except that
- It's at an arena so the sound will probably suck.
- It's general admission so I'll have to fight off yahoos to keep a decent spot and then not move for three hours.
- Tickets, with service charges are over $40 each.
I don't have the URLs with me, Michele, but I've long enjoyed KDRadio (rock 'n' roll oldies, defined loosely enough to span from Perry Como's "Wanted" to Tiffany), which is probably [link] If you're interested in streamed commercial radio not otherwise available in the U.S., I'm a fan of several Top 40 stations in the British Isles -- Capitol FM (London), 2FM (Ireland), Today FM (Ireland).

SWEET CHRIST, HOW I LOVE HATEBEAK, THE DEATH METAL BAND WITH A PARROT ON LEAD VOCALS
....
The band I speak of is a punishing death metal cabal boasting a human drummer, a human guitarist, a human bassist … and a fucking Congo African Grey parrot named Waldo as their mouthpiece.
Dammit, why couldn't I think of this?!?!?!

This is, indeed, the future of death metal.
Are they better than the band with the American Pit Bull on lead vocals?
