Hey, tommyrot: Of Montreal is coming to Schubas Monday. (And hey, Butterfly Boucher is coming there Friday! You should see her too.)

Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.
I posted this in natter, too, but here's my wrap-up on the Austin City Limits Festival this past weekend.

Cool. Thanks P-C. I'll have to see if I can round up some folks to go with me. I go to movies and restaurants alone all the time, but it just seems a litttle weird to go to a concert alone. But maybe I'll do it anyway.

I've done it. It works.
It really does. I've seen a couple really fantastic shows solo, shows I would've regretted missing if I hadn't gone just because I couldn't find a companion.
I was planning to go to the Ari Hest concert last night by myself, before the germs that have taken over my DNA informed me that no, I'd be lying on the couch sucking down orange juice and sneezing.
I've gone to concerts and clubs alone. I don't mind it if I get there shortly before or after the music has started, but I hate the wandering around alone waiting for the bands to start. I don't usually talk much to people I'm with once the music starts anyway.
joseph arthur is in town here tomorrow night, but i doubt i'll go. a)because i've been feeling like crap on a stick. b)it's downtown and i hate driving downtown. not to mention parking. c)i've heard the venue is teeny and not at all conducive to having a good time.
bleh. i'd really like to see him though.
I'm planning on buying two (expensive) tickets to one of the REM Seattle shows, if only because it's more fun to go with someone. But if I can't find anybody to go with, I'll go by myself and just have a twice-as-expensive concert experience.
(Then again, I'll probably panic while on hold with TicketBastard and end up buying only one.)
ATTN:
could DavidS, tina f, Lyra Jane, & Galdalfe email me concerning the CD exchange - THANK YOU!
