I go to movies and restaurants alone all the time, but it just seems a litttle weird to go to a concert alone.
I've done it. It works.
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

It really does. I've seen a couple really fantastic shows solo, shows I would've regretted missing if I hadn't gone just because I couldn't find a companion.
I was planning to go to the Ari Hest concert last night by myself, before the germs that have taken over my DNA informed me that no, I'd be lying on the couch sucking down orange juice and sneezing.
I've gone to concerts and clubs alone. I don't mind it if I get there shortly before or after the music has started, but I hate the wandering around alone waiting for the bands to start. I don't usually talk much to people I'm with once the music starts anyway.
joseph arthur is in town here tomorrow night, but i doubt i'll go. a)because i've been feeling like crap on a stick. b)it's downtown and i hate driving downtown. not to mention parking. c)i've heard the venue is teeny and not at all conducive to having a good time.
bleh. i'd really like to see him though.
I'm planning on buying two (expensive) tickets to one of the REM Seattle shows, if only because it's more fun to go with someone. But if I can't find anybody to go with, I'll go by myself and just have a twice-as-expensive concert experience.
(Then again, I'll probably panic while on hold with TicketBastard and end up buying only one.)

Hey, all! I have a question for you.
I need to do a little research on online radio for the ol' employer. I remember that several people here actually used Internet radio and had particular services that they liked -- would you be willing to point me to 'em, maybe say what you like or dislike about them?
The only such service I've used myself is streaming audio from non-Internet stations (KEXP, WNYC, etc.), so any pointers would be very gratefully accepted indeed.
back atcha David.
