'War Stories'

Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Much like Iggy's, David's big COCK appears to have stunned the crowd into silence.

Your post came about 52 minutes after Hec's. It's not officially a cock-stunning until an hour has passed.

I knew that topless lady had something up her sleeve. - John Prine

Just because I'm man enough to... um, take it, that doesn't mean that Hec didn't rise to the occasion and stun the crowd.

Up with the sun

I was definitely stunned, especially by the ASSCOCKCAPS.

(Also, peanut butter from that appendage sounds like the result of an especially unsavory disease.)

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

In other non-cock-related news: I feel like I've had a very productive day. In reality, I've been busy getting things ready to be mailed. Music things. That counts, right?

A fellow makes himself conspicuous when he throws soft-boiled eggs at the electric fan.

Okay. Fiery Furnaces. Blueberry Boat. I'm not getting it, although "Paw Paw Tree" comes close. Will soldier on. Send reinforcements.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

After a solid week of leaving it at home, I listened to it twice today. It's somewhat like the Who's A Quick One, Wilco's Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, and Moby Dick, but not really much like any of them. I've read all the lyrics at blueberryboat.com, but I like that the snatches that always reach out & grab me are so impressionistic and disjointed. And the music is still full of the last album's electro-country blues, but it has all kinds of buried curlicues and an incredibly baroque structure that pleases me to no end. Try it with headphones on!

I've been playing the shit out of Blueberry Boat. It's weird, but it's my kind of weird. Plus large with the funny.

It does remind me of some Soft Boys songs, like "Wading Though A Ventilator", "Hear My Brane", "The Face of Death" etc. What with the constantly changing melodies and what-not....

Just a drive-by post, but David, it looks like someone is ripping off your Daisy Bang idea: [link]

That someone is Joe Gore, no less. Who played with PJ Harvey. Oh well, its not that far off from the Gorillaz or (my fav) The Huggabaloos!.

Heh. I really like the Theme to the Spooky Bunch.

Like a mix of The Munsters theme, Scooby Do and Rocky Horror.

Spooky Bunch lyrics

I feel spooky
Crawling up from underground
I feel scary
Like a monster stomping round
I feel horny
Like a big rhinoceros
I feel kinky
Good thing there’s a bunch of us

Going bump in the night Yeah it’s out of sight The Spooky Bunch Yeah yeah The Spooky Bunch Yeah yeah

I feel spooky Like I’m in the house alone I feel creepy Better not pick up the phone I feel lucky Decadent and dangerous It’s so funny Everyone’s afraid of us

Yeah yeah Yeah yeah

Yeah the Spooky Bunch Yeah the Spooky Bunch Yeah the Spooky Bunch Yeah the Spooky Bunch
