After a solid week of leaving it at home, I listened to it twice today. It's somewhat like the Who's A Quick One, Wilco's Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, and Moby Dick, but not really much like any of them. I've read all the lyrics at blueberryboat.com, but I like that the snatches that always reach out & grab me are so impressionistic and disjointed. And the music is still full of the last album's electro-country blues, but it has all kinds of buried curlicues and an incredibly baroque structure that pleases me to no end. Try it with headphones on!

This guy obviously never actually took part in the game, or he'd know it was far, far more than a marketing ploy. It was amazing, immersive, and an ingenious method of using the Web to tell a story. Hell, it even went beyond the Web, integrating phone calls and e-mails as well as real-life gatherings.

Last night I bought a new copy of They Might Be Giants' "Flood". I hadn't listened to it in years. All I can say is I want to be able to utilize the piece of my brain that makes me capable to still know almost every single word. It's not fair. I could be using that bit of brain for good.

Oh no, its not bad. It's just that, for me to literally remember almost an entire album after years, that part of my brain must be very powerful. If I had control over what it knew, just imagine how much better off I'd be!
Because, there's only one thing that I know how to do well, and I've often been told that you only can do what you know how to do well, and that's be you. Be what you're like. Be like yourself. And, so, I'm having a wonderful time, but I'd rather be whistling in the dark.

Perhaps your powerful brain section is remembering those lyrics for a reason. You never know how much truth and knowledge is contained within "Minimum Wage."
I'm moving on to phase 2 of making The Handsome Charlies a Dallas sensation. Bar-owner guy is going to add them- won't know the exact date for a couple of weeks, but I want tons of people to go see them. I figure if I can describe them well enough to make people interested to either come to the show or check them out on the web and then come to the show when they see how totally awesome they are. Is there any of you who are fairly good at describing what a band sounds like who would be willing to give a song or two a listen and help me out with a good description? So far I've been saying punky-poppy, but I'd like something more exciting or accurate than that.
