Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.
I broke my no CD buying phase. This weekend I came across a $10 sale and bought the following:
David Gray - White Ladder
Foo Fighters - There is Nothing Left to Lose
Pink - Can't Take Me Home
Wilco - Being There
Lisa Stansfield - Biography
White Stripes - White Blood Cells
Modest Mouse - Good News for People Who Love Bad News
The Vines - Highly Evolved
Christina Aguilera - Christina Aguilera
Run-DMC - Greatest Hits
The Vines - Highly Evolved
I have this on mp3. It's pretty good stuff. "Autumn Shade" is lovely. And "Get Free" still rocks.
There was a guy at the flea market this weekend selling $5 cds and $10 DVDs, all new. I almost broke down. But I was good. Now, I'm regretful.
Jesus Christ, Jon. Bob Quine is too young to be dead.
Latest word is that it was suicide, or at least self-inflicted, but I haven't seen any official confirmation yet.
How sad. I'm listening to WFMU, and they've played a bunch of his stuff, but there hasn't been a break since I tuned in, so no updates. I saw him at J&R last winter and introduced myself. He was really nice. Great player, seemed like a real mensch, too. What a bummer.
Someone on PF posted reports that it was a suicide. No official confirmation yet, though.
Richard Hell's website says it was a suicide.
I was just coming to post that. So sad.
