Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

Jesus Christ, Jon. Bob Quine is too young to be dead.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Latest word is that it was suicide, or at least self-inflicted, but I haven't seen any official confirmation yet.

How sad. I'm listening to WFMU, and they've played a bunch of his stuff, but there hasn't been a break since I tuned in, so no updates. I saw him at J&R last winter and introduced myself. He was really nice. Great player, seemed like a real mensch, too. What a bummer.

Someone on PF posted reports that it was a suicide. No official confirmation yet, though.

Richard Hell's website says it was a suicide.

The FMU deejay mentioned this Robert quine interview at Furious.com. I knew nothing about the site but it's really cool. Lots of other interesting interviews and articles.

DX, a belated (was out of town & then got sick) thank you for posting my crossword. For those of you who don't usually check Sunnydale Press -- feel free to join me in the corner -- I wrote a Mutant Enemy/Tim Minear/Buffistas-themed crossword in honor of the Angel finale. You can do it online or click the link at the bottom of the page for a printable version. It's called "So long, Gordon Abrams." (That would be Mr. Grr! Arrgh! in case you don't remember your ME trivia.)

I really enjoyed it, joe, despite how hard it was. Some of the answers/clues were really clever. A few were COMM-worthy. One was groan-worthy.

Thanks, P-C. Which was groan-worthy, the Joss pun? According to the puzzle constructor's regulations at least one bad pun is required for every puzzle. If it was one of the really obscure words... that's the hazard of doing a themed puzzle and shoehorning stuff around the one you need to fit in.
