Yep. It's on Fruit Tree (the box) and Time Of No Reply (the outtakes).

Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.
Ha! That's an ad for my employer! (MetLife) Freaked me out when they played the set of ads at one of our employee assemblies.
Glad I wasn't mistaken -- he has a pretty distinctive voice -- have you seen this ad?
Me? I saw it at the employee meeting last year, but I can't remember anything about it other than the music. If I saw it again, I'd probably go "Oh yeah, that one."
Exactly -- I hear the song, I think "Oh, Nick Drake" and before I've figured out what the ad is -- it's gone. (I'm guessing that makes it a not very effective ad.)

You have assemblies? Man, just ascend already.
My reactions to various commercial co-options:
"Revolution" - Beatles for Nike: "I don't think that's the revolution he was talking about.'
"Pink Moon" - Nick Drake for VW: "Cool."
"Search and Destroy" - Iggy Pop for Nike: "Holy Shit! Vomiting!"

It's worse. They call them "Town Meetings".
My reactions to various commercial co-options:
"Do You Realize" - Flaming Lips for some car or another, "Do you realize that everybody you know dies in the next line?"
There's also a second volume which I haven't heard: Verve Remixed 2
I think I iTunes'd a track off this- a remix of 'Whatever Lola Wants'. It's fantabulous.
Where's Tina? I found a song I think she'd REALLY like -- "Star, Star" by the Frames. I like both the studio version (which is on Emusic) and the live version (which I found on some mp3 blog or another, which led me to go look for the studio version, and which picks up a bit of "Pure Imagination" in the middle, to tremendous crowd approval). Anyway, I think she'd like it. I do. It's kinda Sufjan-y, kinda Wilco-y.
In other random new music news, I am really enjoying the new Magnetic Fields.
