never having met another werewolf before

His cousin, Jordy.

Though a young werewolf (werepup?) is probably different from a full-grown one.

And I admit, I like the metaphor. It worked for me, possibly because it distracted me from those godawful fur suits.

I 've been hands under the shirt, over the bra, Calvins in a wad on the front seat with some S7 Buffy spoilers - but we never went all the way ~tinaf

Amidst all my miseries last night (again, thanks for all condolences), I actually watched the WAH commentary and it was everything I had hoped it would be and more. Seth Green seemed pretty damn convinced that Oz was "the bad guy" but that the viewer was still to be torn of who to be mad at. I think this is exactly how I felt. Yes, Willow did it too, but it was much less extreme. It just reminds me of the cold hard pain that is love in the Buffyverse.

Also, this may have been mentioned and I missed it upthread or elsewhere, but during that commentary when Veruca and Oz are looking for clothes/chatting about their deed in the laundry room, when Veruca is leaving she says something snobby by way of goodbye...which I can't remember since I didn't hear the actual audio of the show. When the commentary was done they were still in S6 (this will make sense in a minute). Seth, Marti, and Joss are discussing how evil people always say something weird when they are leaving like "ta ta" or something. Seth brings up TTFN, and Joss goes "What the hell is TTFN?" which as I am sure you all remember as well as I do, was The First!Chloe taunting Buffy and the other Potentials.

Restless commentary was pretty good too, although it kind of left some stuff out I thought would get discussed. I do understand Giles' dream part in the crypt much better now though because of it. So, call it a plus.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

yeah. it wasn't so much that Oz was attracted to Veruca, it was that his wolf was attracted to her wolf.

sure to be an Xpost, but

His cousin, Jordy.

but he wasn't a werewolf when he saw Jordy, cause Jordy's the one who bit him.

edit: surprisingly, not.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

His cousin, Jordy.

But there's no indication that he'd seen Jordy since he himself got infected. Also, there may simply he a heightened sexual attraction between lycanthropes. Which wouldn't apply in little Jordy's case.

unless Oz suddenly entered the priesthood, probably not.

But there's no indication that he'd seen Jordy since he himself got infected.

There's also no indication he hasn't -- there's no reason whatsoever to assume Jordy was, like, visiting from Connecticut or something. In any event, it wasn't meant as a serious rebuttal.

Yes, Willow did it too, but it was much less extreme.

See, I don't think so. If you had a choice, and your spouse or partner could either a)make out with their best friend for months, or b)have sex twice with someone who they were powerfully physically drawn to, which would you pick?

I'd go with door number two every time. It's almost purely about sex, while the other is about love.

If it were important to our understanding of Oz, I think we'd know.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Trying to figure out which betrayal was worse sometimes it feels like it misses the point. Betrayal and pain are not really comparable things. Probably to Oz, the Willow/Xander kiss caused as much pain as Veruca/Oz did for Willow. It doesn't really matter which was more or less, to me, because I think the comparisons mask the reality that it just hurt a damn lot. Why justify who hurts more?

I understand that Veruca/Oz needed to happen to forward the story and to send Seth Green out in the most heartwrenching way possible.

ita, I don't think it matters, either -- I just mentioned it because someone said Oz has never met a werewolf before. Chill.
