Famous, or niche? Because I am all about the niche. Is is accurate to say I've tracked more than one actor across multiple identities on CSIs, and CSI sucks. If someone else were to ever give me a heads up, I'd be grateful.
Is it gonna happen enough that there's a press release about it and someone here posts about it to justify an extensive exception to the rule other than "err on the side of whitefont"?
I'm not proposing any exception to the rule. It's perfectly postable by the boundaries of what I currently intend to bring to the vote. It's precisely the sort of thing I *don't* want to have be a spoiler.
The Law & Orders' multiple uses of the same actors could be very distracting. My brain would keep saying, "She can't be the victim. She murdered two people a couple of years ago."
To make this more on topic, I'll say that I can't offhand think of any case in which it would have been a spoiler, except the reappearance of Alex Cabot from witness protection.
The Press announcement is up:
Voting Has Begun!
And with that, I close this thread.
Is it normal (if not exactly current) that as soon as I saw the Beep Me announcement I started singing "It's Time for A-NI-MA-NIACS!" in my head?
So, uh, yeah. Yays!
I watch so many TV animated shows and it would be a huge boon to have a place to discuss them here in one place.
I watch: Archer, Venture Brothers, Bob's Burgers, Legend of Korra, Gravity Falls et al.
A mixture of genres that often features the same voice actors and though they range from fantasy to adventure to comedy to children's shows there's a very good chance they'll feature H. Jon Benjamin and Kristen Schaal.
For me this is grouping that has broad appeal across the board and would benefit from a dedicated thread.
Since it spans so many genres ("single camera" is a facile comparison, but what's in the shows isn't related to the medium) whether or not I'm up to date on Archer because I've watched Gravity Falls. To me, Archer & Robot Chicken are still Comedy, YJ is still Comics, Korra would be Boxed Set, etc, and I wouldn't gain anything by combining them.
We would still be able to talk about them there, right?
We would still be able to talk about them there, right?
I don't talk about them anywhere, because to me they belong together and I don't got into Boxed Set.
There are several other dedicated TV box threads which are less related than this.
I literally don't talk about TV shows on B.org even though there are several shows I
could
talk about if they had a dedicated thread.
That is - to me - the most compelling argument.
Current thread structure mitigates against discussion.
Problems of thread creep? Man, that boat sailed.
There is no tight core.
Cable Drama, Procedurals, NonFiction TV.
How is this remotely different from Procedurals?
I deleted a lot to say: Hec, you absolutely do discuss Archer in comedy, so my confusion at the rest of your post is irrelevantly moot.
Suffice it to say, YES, there is a thematic similarity to Procedurals that animated shows don't share, because animated is medium, not content. Reality is a genre, not a medium. Cable is a grouping of service and airing patterns that I a) find hella clumsy but b) is to minimise spoilage within the bucket.
