Sorry I didn't respond. The answer to the question is that March 20th was the date I proposed it, and in that proposal I said "As from today". I figured that I got four seconds for the idea that as from March 20th there was a moratorium. If I were changing it, I'd change it to May 20th.
Voting Discussion: We're Screwing In Light Bulbs AIFG!
We open it up, we talks the talk, we votes, we shuts it down. This thread is to free up Bureaucracy for daily details as we hammer out the Big Issues towards a vote. Open only when a proposal has been made and seconded according to Buffista policy (Which we voted on!). If this thread is closed, hie thee to Bureaucracy instead!
I think, though, that Betsy's most recent post was intended as the final text of the ballot,
It was indeed, and it said so explicitly.
I was trying to come across as flippant and ended up sounding bitchy. I'm sorry Wolfram. But Nutty's right on why I posted at all, I just felt like it's done, she posted her final version - let it lie, but if we were face to face I (hope I wouldn't have) come across as nasty, but rather, that I would have made you laugh. Again, sorry.
I know I'm going to get yelled at for this. But wasn't it four days discussion, three days voting? Is the discussion period over?
I'm really confused now.
Four days discussion maximum. I believe we can move it to the voting stage earlier if no one has anything new to add.
Thanks Dana. I thought the four day period was deliberately set to give less frequent posters an opportunity to chime in. I was totally unaware that a proposal could move forth sooner. Sorry Betsy, and Cindy.
I'll go stick my head back up my ass.

Four days was the requirement, and the rationale was just such a proposal as this, that starts on Friday afternoon at 2:00 and runs over the weekend when fewer people are here. We should give the proposal and anyone who might step up to discuss it their full day in court.
It's been over three days. I don't think we're tromping on anyone's rights. Because the voting is also open for three days, and if someone dislikes the proposal and somehow didn't get a chance to weigh in, he/she can vote "no".
Edit: x-post.
Sorry Betsy, and Cindy.
Please don't apologize, Wolfram. I haven't been paying any attention to how long it's been going on. If it started on Friday, it should go 'til tomorrow.

Eh, much as I'd like to move on with this, I don't agree.
There's nothing that says we have to continue discussing this, or that Betsy can't post her final version of the proposal whenever she wants. But I don't think we should go to voting until the end of the fourth day.
