David, that sounds good for this early in the treatment, especially compared to the previous treatment.

Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
OK, I know that's not defiitively excellent news, but it's certainly way better than it could be so I'm happy about it! Hope the remainder of this trip is easy on you both

It is possible this is just what would have happened just by changing from FOLFOX to FOLFIRI but I don’t think so.
They are more aggressively attacking in this round with Avastin (monoclonal antibody that starved the tumor of blood) as well as the study drug which is highly targeted to this tumor mutation.
Oh wow, very glad to hear this. Progress in the right direction.
I'm glad the scans showed no progression. Keeping you both in my thoughts.
meara, I am so sorry. I hope the results are better than anticipated and your mom has good doctors and nurses.
meara, that is awful on all levels; I'm so sorry. Hoping for best possible outcomes for all of it, and it's a lot.
David, that's good to hear.
Yeah it’s not “You’re cured!” But it’s definitely not “It’s worse and the treatment failed.”
It’s “This seems to be working and moving in the right direction.”
And that’s definitely a win after the last two scans.
The new drugs are here! Always takes forever to get them released from the pharmacy because clinical trial authorizations are many.
But now we’re on time for keeping the chemo pump clock countdown (45 hours) so we can catch our scheduled flight home on Sunday.
Yay for new drugs, smooth countdowns, and happy doctors. The relief must be so profound.
Sounds promising. Got rid of the social worker for another 3 months.(Not that I *meant* to put them with the tumor, but it's fitting, in a way)
On another topic - anyone have Vegas advice or suggestions? Against my better judgement :-) I appear to be going for my birthday this year.
I agreed if my sis could find a reasonable package for the U2 dome thing - which tbh looks pretty mind-blowing - we would go, and this is how the dates worked out. So we have a package deal with the show on Weds October 25 and staying at the Venetian Palazzo on the 25th and 26th, checking out Friday am.
I want to plan it so we arrive on Sunday or Monday and stay somewhere else for a few days first. Recommendations? Good pool lounging if possible and general accessibility to things. And we’ll probably plan a Grand Canyon trip or something like that on Tuesday.
(Also I’m not saying that people should seriously consider whether they have anywhere else better to be that week, but I’m not NOT saying that…)
