Smooth surgery and recovery ~ma to your great aunt, sj.

Soothing vibes to Matilda. I mostly escaped that kind of pain, but many of my friends did not, so I have huge empathy.

I got work I needed to get accomplished done this morning (and invoiced for it, even), but now I have some training to do, and even though it's not taxing, I'm dragging my feet. OK -- I will print what I need and start, now that I've typed that out...

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Thanks Jen. My uncle actually but I realize I never actually said that.

Oh! How weird that I just thought sister. To your (great) uncle, then, of course.

Our wings are not tired.

Recovery~ma for your uncle, sj.

Almost Twice as Many Republicans Than Democrats Died From COVID Post-Vaccine.

James Carville was talking about that a couple days ago. Not a great plan to kill off your base there GOP. Go Science! Pay the price science deniers.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Not a great plan to kill off your base there GOP.

Yeah, if I was a supervillain intent on taking down the GOP (instead of joining it? a supervillain with standards, I guess), I couldn't have planned anything better. Pity they spread it to immunocompromised people and those who can't take vaccines for medical reasons on the way to the grave.

Maybe they'll decide beta blockers and seat belts are government attacks on Freedom(TM) next.

Health~ma to your great uncle, sj! (Odd to add to this particular post, but heartfelt none the less.)

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

OMG!

Employee hired 2-3 weeks ago - called out sick first week and on the day she called out sick said Dr told her to be out 4 days (a note is required after 5 days) - when she returns and starts being trained she snaps at coworker and leaves the office for up to an hour at a time multiple times during the day without telling anyone what is going on. - emails boss the day after the snapping saying she is uncomfortable with coworker and it is causing anxiety. She uses very specific language that sounds like she is going to claim some eeoc items. - we move her desk to another area and her boss interviews all people separately - the day after interviews she files ADA accommodation papers saying she needs to work remotely 100% and get frequent breaks to “journal and meditate”.

People are WILD.

She is being terminated right now.

She hasn’t even been in the office a total of 10 days.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Holy shit. People are wild out there.

You know, I used to take some sick days here and there for no good reason, and basically haven't done that at all in this job that I've now been in 5+ years, but with covid it feels like bad juju to take a fake sick day!

Teeth are bullshit. Well, I'm glad to have them, but maintenance and repair of them is bullshit, as is the way that they aren't covered under regular health insurance (of course, health insurance is ALSO bullshit). And honestly, teeth really could have been designed better. I have some notes for the designer.

TRUTH.

Our wings are not tired.

Good grief, msbelle! I can't even.

Also, what y'all said about teeth, and insurance. Bullshit.

For years I took sick days almost 1 a quarter sick or not, mental health days. But that was often at jobs with very little vacation and no personal days.

With 12 office holiday days a year, 5 personal days, and plenty (but still not enough) vacation, I haven’t done that with this job.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I keep thinking I should institute some kind of regular sick day taking whether I need it or not just because I have accumulated almost 3 weeks and that doesn't get paid out if you leave.
