I’m mad at myself I forgot there’s this new random pretzel cart that is only open Sunday mornings when the weather is nice, a block from my house. And I meant to go today, and forgot! Oops. But the weather is so nice. Rory and I went to see my friends play some soccer and then a friend who is splitting up with her partner moved in this afternoon, she’s going to stay here for a month or so while they do some talking. My dog is very excited to have someone else around.

Last night I ended up finding a little sequined romper and wearing it out to the disco night. Didn’t stay very long (probably not worth the $$ paid) in part because it was very loud and crowded and not doing that for two years it felt like a lot to jump back into. But it was good to get dressed up and go out with friends! As we were leaving someone else was hyping their friend, and told us she was a baby gay and needed some cheering and I told her I had been gay longer than she’d been alive (she was 22) and she was like “my mom is 40!” Omg. I felt elderly AF.

Vent ahead, no hairpats or advice needed.

Mac turned 21 on Sat. He did not respond to a text from me Fri afternoon or Sat morning, but texted me Sat late afternoon to tell me he was in a car wreck Fri night (says not his fault).

He says he’s fine. I told him to call insurance. He hasn’t. Car and insurance are in my name. I called insurance today to verify that he can call in the claim since he is in the policy.

I’ve reached a new line in the sand with him. Almost two and a half years of him in an apartment and very little growth in responsibility, if any. Failed out of school, not earning enough to pay rent, very little communication, not vaccinated.

I’ve leveled up in emotional exhaustion, disappointment, and frustration, but do not think we have hit the bottom yet.

The word of the day for the foreseeable future is resolve.
