Vent ahead, no hairpats or advice needed.
Mac turned 21 on Sat. He did not respond to a text from me Fri afternoon or Sat morning, but texted me Sat late afternoon to tell me he was in a car wreck Fri night (says not his fault).
He says he’s fine. I told him to call insurance. He hasn’t. Car and insurance are in my name. I called insurance today to verify that he can call in the claim since he is in the policy.
I’ve reached a new line in the sand with him. Almost two and a half years of him in an apartment and very little growth in responsibility, if any. Failed out of school, not earning enough to pay rent, very little communication, not vaccinated.
I’ve leveled up in emotional exhaustion, disappointment, and frustration, but do not think we have hit the bottom yet.
The word of the day for the foreseeable future is resolve.

DP's surgery went well, and surgeon was actually optimistic that the growth was perhaps not invasive... which would mean no medical oncology follow-up. Pathology won't come back until next week, but I was very pleasantly surprised that he even said anything like that at all -- they're usually pretty conservative. So, I continue to send (and ask for) good vibes for best possible outcomes.
