Oof, Epic, I hope they figure some things out for you.
How am I a grown adult person? Who authorized this?

Oh, thank GOD. Tim finally has an appointment with a therapist for Saturday. I know sometimes you don't click with the first therapist (although I did with mine), but I'm crossing my fingers they click, because he is dealing with so much shit right now.
Digits crossed that it is a good match for Tim.
Fingers crossed, Teppy. And I have never heard of this locking pouches thing. How does that even work?? Is it to prevent people from filming?
Laura that’s sweet that you could ask a neighbor for glasses and he’d come for wine!
I am not sure how I’m allowed to adult either sometimes. Like maybe “rent an apartment and manage ok” but not “plan for retirement and own a house”? I live in fear that I am not doing something I should be and the house is going to fall down around me due to neglect. That secretly there is rot everywhere and the bathtub will fall through the ceiling or the wiring will be eaten by mice and electrocute me or something.

It’s this: [link] . And, at least for performances, it seems to be primarily about preventing filming and other IP issues. But it sounds like there are schools that use them, too, to keep students off their phones.
Fingers crossed for Tim finding a good one from the start.
Meanwhile, I can hear my spouse and my 34-year-old offspring kibbitzing about being managers before going into a Destiny raid. Ken haaaaaaates managing people and is irritated to find that he is very good at it.
AHAHAHAHAHA.

We are dealing with those things right now!
BUT, here's the dealio, you can fix those things. Admittedly, it takes money.
I think previous to this home buy I had a notion that things were either SOUND or ROTTEN.
But it turns out you can do and (really with older places) must do some building maintenance. Mostly to keep the water out, but also to keep the bugs out, and the electricity where it belongs.
While we were fretting over our Building Disclosure document (85 pages) JZ and I happened to watch a reaction video to It's A Wonderful Life. And it was heartening (almost heroic) to watch Mary take the old building she loved and turn it into a wonderful home.
(Side note: As I've often thought that the Harry Potter stories would be much more interesting through the viewpoint of Hermione as the chief protagonist, there is an interesting story to be told of Mary as the hero of It's a Wonderful Life.)
Anyway, our takeaway was that buying a home was an acceptance of stewardship. When we were having mild freakouts over the disclosure our realtor kept saying, "This building is fine. They don't make them like they used to." And we learned to understand that it was structurally sound and you have to make some effort to fend off water wherever it seeks to enter.
Hah but it’s the maintenance I’m worried I’m ducking up and creating a future bathtub-through-ceiling event!
We got the horrifying way too long and involved home inspection for ourselves a while back, just to use as a punch list. Inspectors list things that would never be on your own list. It was pricey, but worth it to not have surprises.
I took monday and tuesday off this week, no plans, just some recovery days and luckily times with the time change. I've slept in an extra 45min - an hour each morning.
Yesterday I did nothing, but clear off the Tivo and knit. Today I am going to do a little more.
shower
library pick-up holds
bakery stop
post office mail things
grocery store
A good start and not too much.
