Tim is home sick today with a bad cold (and he never takes sick time -- the last 3 times I can remember are [1] collapsed lung, [2] heart surgery, and [3] Covid). He got a Covid test just to be sure, so cross your fingers that it's just a cold. (I think there's virtually no chance it could be Covid, but "virtually no" does mean nonzero.) (Plus when he got Covid, at first we thought the symptoms were just a cold, so at this point it's kind of like: allergies? sinus infection? cold? Covid? Black Plague? NO ONE KNOWS.)
Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Hope Tim feels better quickly. Goes without saying that I hope the test is negative, of course.
Got the tree decorated on Sunday, and then I went to World Market this morning and got a tree skirt and a bunch more ornaments. I ordered a tree that was purposely more "sparse," because I hate having ornaments rest on branches below the ones they're hanging on. That may have been a mistake -- jury's out. I definitely didn't fluff the tree to my liking, but I'm not sure if I just don't have the hang of how it's supposed to look. We'll see. It was not cheap -- I will put more effort in to make it better. Just not quite sure how. I'll hit up the site tonight to see if other people have feedback or tips.
And I got my holiday cards. Always fun.
Negative~ma for Tim. I'd say 100% of the time I have tested I knew it was okay but civic responsibility made me do it anyway. Didn't regret it at all.
head desk head desk My sister called me to ask what "Let's go Brandon" meant because my brother had a sign that said that hanging at his house, and she is clever enough to know that asking him would likely be something she didn't want to do. I told her. Insert sigh. As I did so I could hear my liberal devoted Democrat mother saying "where did I go wrong with him", as she said so often the last few years before she died. She always blamed herself for our misdeeds, much to our amusement. My brother, not at all amusing.
Timelies all!
We have a new nanny! She starts Thursday. Hopefully this will work out as well as the previous one did.
Congrats on the new place, Trudy!
I hope you got good test results today, dcp.
We had several in person meetings today, and they were exhausting. Not bad, just a lot. I’m too used to working from my recliner, with a cat on my lap.
Yay new nanny, Sheryl!
Fingers crossed on negative COVID tests for all!
Feel better, Tim! Hope all went well, dcp. Good luck with the nanny, Sheryl. And other reactions as appropriate!

UGH.
I guess I was taken with the spirit of msbelle over the weekend, because I just ordered a silver tinsel tree! It will apparently get here next week. Now I have to decide if/how I will get some real greenery into the house.
No new mets, no growing mets. As good as could be hoped for. Thanks.
Excellent news, dcp!
Good news!
