In my observance of various elder family members, I feel like if you’re reasonably active and moderately lucky, most people are good until about 80. After that it’s a crapshoot. My mother is 71 and capable of anything I am, and she dragged her husband (now 89) along until a couple of years ago, although I doubt he enjoyed it much, and he napped a lot. My father is 75 and hates exercise but is big into gardening and home renovation and he’d manage to walk across Scotland except he hates exercise.

The moderately lucky part is where the universe will get ya. My father was always active and reasonably healthy but Parkinson's is a motherfucker.

Well, my MRI showed no big issues. No sign of stroke or anything like that. Some apparently super minor stuff that can be blamed on blood pressure or diabetes. Neither of which are a current issue for me, but I do have a tendency toward them if I am not diligent.

My BP has sucked the last couple doc visits, but I have been blaming that on my anxiety over all of it. The Neuro doc had kind of sensible advice that I might take. She said at my age and weight it is going to take me a couple years to lose the amount of weight it would take to get my cholesterol and BP under control, so just take the damn meds. Then when the weight is down I can stop the damn meds. I'll see what my blood look like later today and make some decisions.

My favorite Wacoal bra broke yesterday. The wire came out so far it nearly stabbed me in the throat. It seemed like something that should be posted about in Bitches.

ION, my inlaw's were supposed to take ltc for her first sleepover ever this weekend, but TCG's stepmother is sick so they cancelled. ltc is at school right now and doesn't know yet, but she's going to have a major meltdown. I spent two weeks convincing her it was okay to go, and she was finally excited about it. We're taking her out to a restaurant tonight to soften the blow that has burgers and milkshakes for her and cocktails for me.

We're also setting up her new bed this weekend, and we are going to have to move around some of her furniture to accommodate it, and I really didn't want her to be here for that. I wanted it to be all done and set because she hates change as much as her momma does and she's going to give us trouble about moving things.
