The shooting in Thousand Oaks has me so very shaken. I know it can happen anywhere, but I lived in TO for years and it's just... shocking. I got my first job in TO, had my first boyfriend in TO, graduated high school in TO, my wife and I met while living in TO. Shit, I ate dinner on prom night at the restaurant that used to be in the spot Borderline is. I have tons of friends who are still there. My timeline is full of this and it's just... I have no words.

Yeah, after I ascertained that I was very unlikely to know anyone who was there, I haven't been able to bring myself to read anything more about either this shooting or the Pittsburgh shooting, and it makes me sick that this happens so frequently now that I can actually think to myself, "Oh no, another one," and then just... stop thinking about it. It's become routine, and that is so deeply disturbing and fucked up.
