This has been an emotional rollercoaster of a day. I got excited about nailing the interview . Then realized it takes a year of averaging 29.5 hours a week to qualify for bennies at Target. Got depressed. Then decided screw it I can do the best I can.

I like working in retail. I want to figure out how to make it working in retail . I'm good at it. And I like it more than being a receptionist.

Neville needed to be neutered before we could adopt him, so that was at 8 or 9 weeks, but other than him I've always waited until 6 months or so.

I am having a bad day.

I drove D to a birthday party about 30 minutes from our house, taking DH's car because it was parked behind mine. At some point in between the car and the trampoline place where the party is, I dropped my keys. I retraced my steps three times, asked every store along the way if someone had turned them in, no luck. So I had DH jump in a cab and come get me with his keys so I could get home.

This keychain, among other things, had my only keyfob to my car. Which, because it's a Prius, I can only get new keys made by a Toyota dealer. They need the title of the car so I can prove it's mine. Very sensible of them.

Except I don't have a title to this car because when the dealer mailed it to me I was in the middle of moving and it got sent back to the DMV. Which means I can't replace it online, and the title service's bureau doesn't open until Monday. (The dealer I got the car from wasn't a certified Toyota anything, it was just a guy with a used car lot.)

Also, I can't find the bill of sale for this car, which I know I had when we moved because I made a mental note 18 months ago to go to the DMV and sort out the title thing. (I also made a mental note to have an extra key made...) Hopefully I don't need it to replace the title.

Titles applied for in person get mailed out after 3 days, meaning the earliest I can drive to a dealership and have them program new keys is Friday, I guess. I can't take time off work for this because things there are also in a severe state of catastrofuck. (Oh, and my VPN token which I need for working from home, also on the keychain that is somewhere in New Rochelle. So I at least need to go into the office on Monday to get that replaced before I even think of working from home so I can do to the DMV.)

(And I'm on my period so everything is making me fall apart, and Trump is signing executive orders to basically murder children and poor people and California is on fire and Puerto Rico is dying and everything is awful and I ate all the peanut M&M's in the house yesterday.)

Oh Jessica! That is a very bad day. I hope the key chain some how finds its way back to you. And yeah, I hear you on the state of the world. I was off the computer all day and stayed outside pretending the world outside my yard didn't exist.

I think the original keys are a lost cause. On the plus side, I racked up almost 8000 steps looking for them.

Ugh Jessica, that's a PITA

My shoulder's been hurting a lot the past couple of weeks, but interestingly, it doesn't hurt as bad when I wear a wrist brace. Interconnectedness is odd.

I am very sorry if my FB feed is causing any of you trauma. Jebus.

I blocked him because I was getting frustrated with the conversation, not because it caused me any trauma (though it was fairly agitating, but my bar is set kind of low for agitation these days). The best way to bail on that frustration is to physically not be able to see the conversation, so -- blockage. (And blocking him prevents *me* from continuing to argue as well, which was also a good idea.)
