Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I just got an e-mail from I guy I was seeing 10 years ago, pre-mastectomy, pre-the last 50 pounds, who's going to be in town next month and wants to "catch up." He moved back to California and we lost touch, so he knows nothing about the cancer, et al. I am filled with terror and indecision.

Are your memories of him good overall? If you still consider him someone you are on friendly terms with, don't let body image demons stop you from seeing him.

I have not yet coped with the idea of someone seeing a long scar where the breasts used to be. I have been avoidy.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Ginger,

I think I am being obtuse. How would he see the scar? Or are you thinking of possible sexytimes?

Well, there used to be sexytimes.

Our wings are not tired.

I understand your hesitation, Ginger. If this is someone you have good feelings about I would go ahead and see him to catch up. Who knows what stuff he has dealt with the last 10 years. You will have a better feeling about how much you want to discuss when you actually see him.

Are whether to see him and whether to have sex with him the same issue? Can you see him, and put off the issue of sexytimes until you see how you click today, which may not be the same as then?

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Ginger, did you get the impression from his message that "catch up" = "sexytimes"? He may not be in that place any more, and might just want to see you and how you're doing platonically.

You get to decide how you want to interact. If you'd like to have dinner with him, go for it. If you're not ready for sexytimes, that's something that's totally up to you and he has to live with it.

Edit: Personal choice x-post FTW!
