Was it here we were talking about fighting logos? Have you guys seen this?
I don't think I'd likely go to a gay club without a gay person. It's generally been a mixed-group endeavor.
That said, I'm not really a club person.
I've been to a couple of gay nightclubs with an all-straight group though it's been a long time ago, a really long time ago. I'd say at least one of them was a "gay" nightclub since there were so many straight people there.
There have been a few times where I was the only man at a lesbian bar (each time with a lesbian friend). That was kinda' weird. Once there was a wet t-shirt contest, which was more funny than anything.
I'll say there's nothing bizarre about straight people going to gay nightclubs, but it's not the usual thing.
I'd say this is the difference between saying 'not unusual' and 'usual'.
I think I've once been to a gay bar without a guy. I'm sure we were annoying to some, and we were treated like toys by others.
eta: I'm just sure most straight people have never been to a gay nightclub.
I have been to a lesbian nightclub with ita, in fact!
I went to a gay bar with a straight friend by accident once -- we had plans to meet at a place we hadn't been to in a while, and it had switched over in the meantime. It was pretty funny.
Yeah, it doesn't seem that weird to me, but in High School and College, most of my friends were gay men (well, my age, but I felt weird saying gay boys)
Pretty shocking for the anti-gay rights person.
