Yay! Actually, I think sharing my cake would have cheered me up, so win-win!

When thereabouts is moving day?

JenP - Sep 30, 2009 5:17:33 pm PDT #11674 of 30001

Well, it's looking like early/mid Nov. Which is really much sooner than I think it is. Six weeks? I'm seeing my boss tomorrow, and I'm hoping to get some more solid data re: timing. Because finding a place and actually moving - I need to get on that. Oh, god, where's the cake?

sarameg - Sep 30, 2009 5:26:29 pm PDT #11675 of 30001

Well, if worse comes to worst, I do have a spare (cathair encrusted) bed for while you are looking. I wish I were housemate material to offer, but I'm not & I like to keep friends (especially with only one bath!)

Also? It'll be fine. There are plenty of places. I found my apt in 2 days. Hell, I found HOUSE in under a week!

Hee, you're awesome - thank you.

I am in a good situation, because I'm not on a lease, and roomie is very mellow about it all. As long as I can deal with the commute, I'm not without a place to live, but that's also making me kind of slow to act. Bel Air is an easy commute, but I won't be there permanently. I just need some definitive time frame stuff from my boss, I think. And then I will force myself to deal with the logistics of moving.

If only I could blink my eyes and have it done. I'm actually looking forward to my own place again - and being in Balto. - I just wish there were Moving Fairies to handle it all.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Emmett has been diligently studying a classic reference book he received for his birthday for more than two hours.

The book? Mr. Boston's Bartending Guide.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Electro-Plasmic Hydrocephalic Genre-Fiction Generator 2000

You get a different story each time. Mine:

Your title is: “The Neurotrons”

In a dragon-filled terraformed Mars, a young student of metaphysics stumbles across a talking fish which spurs him into conflict with a sneering wizard, with the help of a female who inexplicably becomes attracted to the damaged protagonist for unstated reasons and her cleavage, culminating in eternal love professed without irony.

eta: Another one ends:

...culminating in authorial preaching through the mouths of the characters.

Heh.

eta²: How it's generated is pretty entertaining too: [link]
