an extra side of cole slaw for some semblance of something not fried or not sweet
Isn't it usually sweet? You're totally cheating the salad gods.

Not the vinegar variety of cole slaw, which is my favorite version. Nice and tart and yum!
Kathy, yup.
I love a coleslaw where the sweet comes only from the cabbage itself (I like other kinds too.) A favorite is the one at La Posta in Mesilla: vinegar, pepper, something (lime?) and just enough chile for a little kick. I could eat it by the bucket.
I've only had the sweet kind. Not a fan. Cabbage.
So he's squished inside the pillowcase and pillows, like some cat filling in an Oreo cookie? Cute!!!
Very. Although Oreos with cat filling sound utterly repulsive.
I love a good cole slaw, but I don't like them sweet. In my worldview a good cole slaw has neither raisins nor pineapple in it. I make one with ramen noodles and a touch of sesame oil and soy. mmmm.

Yeah, I stopped getting the slaw at KFC because it's so sweet.
Raisins? In cole slaw??? Eww! I have heard of pineapple being included, but only by poor benighted people who don't know better.
The only two varieties of cole slaw I'm familiar with are the creamy type and the vinegar type.
I think my favorite cold veggie dish is one I've had at the Uzbek restaurant near my place, which is julienned carrots in some sort of tart rice vinegar marinade that is soooooo good!! They also serve a similar dish but with beets that my dad is in love with.

I know, Kathy, I know.
Another argument in favor of cabbage? Kim chee.
I sometimes mix shredded cabbage, tuna and Girard's chinese chicken salad dressing.
