Now, I can hold a note for a long time...actually I can hold a note forever. But eventually that's just noise. It's the change we're listening for. The note coming after, and the one after that. That's what makes it music.

...all my words have been taken by my work. - Mala

You mean No Rest For the Wicked, when Dean dies?

Yes.

Because books.

It looks like that!

It also looks very very pretty.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Thanks. I thought the hat & ponytail seemed likely to be crew.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

But the t-shirt picture. Jesus, the guns are frigging HUGE.

And the *thighs*, such a luscious curve.

Kneel before Glod. ~Stephen Colbert

I just want Jared to get back to his S3 bulk. I love him toned and muscled, but it's a little too Schwarzenegger for me.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Why did I try and google for those pieces of clothing?

I have no idea. I used to image Google, now I just hit provocateuse first. It's easier and there's nice QA.

"I make mistakes, but I am on the side of Good," the Golux said, "by accident and happenchance.” – The 13 Clocks, James Thurber

This is a carryover from last night's fanfic conversation... I was playing with my Delicious tags, and got confused yet again over the "gen" tag. I used to think of gen as the Supernatural equivalent of a G-rated movie -- the guys running around solving a case, maybe some whumpage, some hurt/comfort or some angst, but no sex of any sort. Is this the generally accepted definition? Because despite my aversion to angelic sex, I do have a Sam/Castiel story and its sequel on there (it's really very, very good - the author made me believe it) and I wasn't sure if that qualified to be labelled as gen.

I thought gen was just not slash, but I only very occasionally read fic.

Because books.

If the romantic pairing is the point of the story, then it's not gen. If Whoever and Whoever are solving a case and just happen to already be a couple, and the case is the focus, I think it's gen, but I don't know if fandom agrees.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The semantics leaves some holes, doesn't it? Slash is either gay or non-canonical gay with sexual content, and het is straight sexual content, and gen is not focussed on sexual content, right?

Most days that's what I believe, with slash being non-canonical gay (so Jack/Ianto isn't slash--but then it's not het, so I don't know how it's filed).
