That was . . . terrible.
Supernatural 2: Why is it our job to save everybody?
[NAFDA]. This is where we talk about the CW series Supernatural! Anything that's aired in the US on TV (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though — if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.
Yes, it was terrible. And the music sucked and the mythology was not the SPN mythology.
Why were Sam and Dean even in that episode?
Tried to watch it on cw.com but it kept going buggy and the music from the ads would keep playing after the ads were over. Finally gave up. Glad I didn't miss much.
It was jarring to bounce back and forth between filming styles and soundtracks. A back door pilot should have been Show with characters and ideas that you want to see more of but Show doesn't have time for. Instead we got Other Show taking SPN's timeslot with SPN having guest stars on it. Or at least that's my personal definition that may not line up with reality.
Do not want.
Juliebird - that is how I felt. It wasn't an episode of SPN, just a pilot with guest appearances from the boys.
Normally I rewatch once or twice during the week and this week, I have the impulse and then I remember the episode and I'm disappointed all over again.
You know what would have been a much better back-door pilot? The episode with Garth's new werewolf family.
Was it last season that had several episodes with a back-door pilot feel (the college werewolves, the guy who inherited a golem, the teenage hunter halfway house, and the one full of racefail and bestiality squick)? I might have been inclined to watch series based on the first two.
Loved the golem.
Warning for unpopular opinion.
I would love to see the network get 100% behind Bloodlines, get off the SPN bandwagon, and pull the plug already. The scripts and season arcs have sucked, characterisation of all three leads has been deliberately sabotaged to the point none of them is recognizable. And at this point, I think, past rescue by writers who understand them and are willing to respect canon.
Frankly, I want to see Jensen play somebody besides Dean. Misha is so adept, I want his version of practically every movie role out there. I want to see what Jared will do in other roles. It's past time this show was staked and burned, and put to final rest. If it takes the CW getting behind a show more suited for their network for them to let SPN go, then I'm all for Bloodlines being picked up.
I actually sent a (I understand, totally futile) message to the writers to please stop using Carry On for the finale, because it's become obvious there will never be peace for these characters, and apparently, they will never be done.
TV Guide had a pretty good take down on why Bloodlines sucked.
