Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Either I didn't see those interviews, or they didn't ping me, since I had no such concern. And when it was announced that it was going to be mostly just the boys, initial fandom response was positive, because it was thought it would hark back to season one.

Then again, I liked having a 21st century opponent--that worked for me, as a change. I thought it was interesting to see an opponent whose gambits weren't primarily a) mystical b) violent. The degree it threw them off kilter and made them more highly dependent on technology (including Frank) I thought was a refreshing change.

I preferred it to the idea of them fighting alphas, or something again. I assume they'll be back to something like that this season.

I hope that the insight displayed about putting the boys together the past two seasons is evinced in S8, and Carver doesn't stretch out Dean and Cas in Purgatory. That will lose them goodwill.

Okay, people ... interesting. There's a hellatus hurt!Dean prompt up, and well, fandom loves to see Dean hurt--I get that. Faith is a favourite of mine too. But just as I get used to the chick who loves lame!Dean specifically, I bump into two fans of puking!Dean: [link]

So--fess up. What's the most specific thing you like seeing any of the characters do? Not including sex, because that's too obviously gratifying.

Right now, all I can think of is functional alcoholic!Dean (as in, not drunk, but drinking heavily). But I'm sure there's something weirdly precise that I love in one of those guys. It just hasn't occurred to me yet.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Being brothers!

Dean loving on the impala! (NOT LIKE THAT)

eta: Dean geeking out about Dr Sexy or other TV

Oh, and of course "cleaning weapons" is just as obvious as sex, so no need to specify.

I do like when Dean geeks out properly, like anime or Lord of the Rings or something, because he's so definite he's not one of them.

Because books.

I love Sam eating healthy. Especially salad. Wow, that looks weird when I write it out. Oh, and lock picking.

I love Dean geeking out, too, but I could use more taking-care-of-Sammy, always.

Anything mundane -- grocery shopping, doing laundry -- love that. And I would give at least a finger for another prank war.

Oh, god, lock picking...why so hot???

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

What I want to see in Show and what I want to see in fic are quite different.

In fic, whump with consequences is my . . . kink? I guess. And because I'll never really adequately have that in Show, I don't expect it or wish desperately for it there. Not H/C, mind you, because the emphasis is always on the comfort that usually ends up being sexual in nature, or fluffy.

But In Show, yeah, prank wars and geekiness.

And competence in both Show and fic.

Because books.

What a silly question. I also want to see more brothers being brothers.

I want to go on record as saying I do not need to see Dean (or anyone) puking on the show, or in fic, for that matter. That's ... really weird.

Actually, did you mean in fic or on the show?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I wasn't actually thinking of them separately. I guess I was assuming that lame!Dean and puke!Dean would also be welcomed on TV, which is unsupported.

I don't know if I have any different wishes other than--gimme all the D/C fic in the world, but it's probably quite safest if that never happens onscreen. However, I read so much fic that doesn't meet my criteria in any other way that I might consider myself irretrievably tainted. I can't tell what distinguishes between a fic I finish and one I don't, because I have been reading some horrible shit recently, but still not *all* the D/C.

Hell, Sam just gave birth to Gabriel's baby, and I thought "Oh, well, I've gotten this far..."

For the puking record, also: no puking, please. But this person had a general love of Dean in gastrointestinal distress.

Because books.

I came across an author who seemed to write nothing but sick!Dean. Generally sneezy, feverish, needing to be cuddled Dean, with Sam stepping up manfully. Bizarre. Every. single. fic. included it.

Hell, Sam just gave birth to Gabriel's baby, and I thought "Oh, well, I've gotten this far..."

Oh, honey.
