I think it's a different issue now -- Dean isn't sure Sam knows what's real and what's not, and how Lucifer is affecting his judgment. You can call this distrust, because it is, but it's not motivated the same way. He's a little more worried now than he was when Sam was drinking the demon blood -- then, he believed Sam was making the wrong choices from a lucid point of view, and now he's simply worried that Sam may not be lucid all the time, although it's not his fault.

Supernatural 2: Why is it our job to save everybody?
[NAFDA]. This is where we talk about the CW series Supernatural! Anything that's aired in the US on TV (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though — if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.
I think that Dean stopped trusting Sam when Sam started being unreliable. Also, he disagrees with him. I don't think he'd have let a monster go without a big fight, and Sam's not up to one right now.
Dean might in fact be the one spiraling out of control, one tightly-wound step at a time. Or they both are.
I'm riveted.
I don't understand when fans think a character has been ruined. I may not like something, but it happened and because I'm only viewing the story, I have to deal with it. I knew when Dean was in the room with Amy, that he was going to kill her. I kept telling him that Sammy would never forgive him. He doesn't listen to me because he already knows that. My boys need a hug.
eta: I'm also a little giddy this morning in the after glow of Sam's first kiss. He asked Dean for advice, which had to be so difficult for him to make himself that vulnerable. Happy young Sam leaves me smiling. Colin is so adorable.
I think it could have been as simple as his stuff ended up on the cutting room floor for time, but the bits that survived he was behaving strangely (to me).
I sort of hope it is that because Bobby felt off in a few moments with no apparent reason why.
That said, he and Dean watching the telenovela was awesome and funny.
Points:
- Colin was awesome. I love him like pie.
- Young Amy was wonderful. I want to see her in lots of other things.
- I agree with (our) Amy about how I feel about Dean's actions. I expected him to have killed the son first, quickly, as painlessly as possible, and with sincere regret before he killed Amy.
- I agree with Stephanie, I think, on I'm more upset with him going behind Sam's back than on either killing Amy or leaving the kid alive, alone, and hungry.
- I absolutely loved the stalking the stalker in the woods scene, it was so pretty. Jensen did good there, Kim woulda been proud.
Did Dean comment on Amy's last name, or was it only Sam? I forget.
I think it was just Sam, but I'd need to rewatch.
I'm trying to categorise them geekily. So far, Dean is Vonnegut and Tolkien and comics--perhaps the more literary of the two. Sam is Doctor Who and what else?
Who played the young Amy? I agree that she was excellent.
