Fans have been hating on Danneel for years. They've been rude to her in front of Jensen when she's accompanied him to cons, and he's scolded them for it. It never made big press. Possibly because, though with some fans it's hard to believe, he may actually have embarrassed them about their behavior.
She's a patient woman. She's sat behind him for hours while he signed and signed and signed photos and dvds and other odd things, flashing a smile and exchanging a word with fans. I know he's paid very well to do this, and I know he volunteered. But she's not getting paid, and it's deadly boring just sitting and getting dirty looks from his fans, when they bother to acknowledge your presence at all. Still, I think he feels better when she's there, and she's done that for him, with no fanfare, for years. Since Jared was with Sandy, who did much the same thing.
Gen has a bigger presence in SPN fandom, and because of her antagonistic role as well as being Jared's gf, she had a lot of negative response, some of it vitriolic. Jared was sort of ingenuous (or manipulative, it's hard to tell with him sometimes) in LA in 2009 when he said something like Didn't you love Gen as Ruby? to the crowd. He seemed genuinely surprised and dismayed when the crowd went, Noooo! Well, sweetie, one, your question was ambivalous. While we may have liked to HATE Ruby b/c she was mean and antithecal to Our Boyz, we didn't LIKE her b/c she was MEEEEN to Sam and Dean. And while some of us may have appreciated her work, others of us may have preferred Katie's presentation of the character, others of us may have found Gen's performance...less than sparkling, others of us may have liked her acting just fine. If you're going to go there and ask the prickly questions, you need to be specific in what you're asking.
But by and large, I think fandom has had to accept Gen's here to stay, though she has much less deliberate interaction with the craxy.
Danneel does tend to maintain her cheerful, upbeat public persona, in the face of *years* of being disliked and outright hated in some quarters, and I give her all credit for that. I haven't seen much of her work, but what I have seen, I think she's capable of better, and it would be very nice if she got the opportunity to prove that.
I love Petite Madame's work. Those D/Cs, the colors and the softness are wonderfully done, and she catches the essence of the characters, as well as likeness to the actors.
The "'cesty" one--well, I don't see it that way. I've always thought that the way they were raised, the brothers are more familiar with each other's bodies (stitches, bandaging, re-locating joints) than other siblings, have used touch as comfort when they had scant and few other comforts, reaching back into childhood. So that picture *to me* has no sexual connotation at all. It's just comfort.
Oh, opinions, I haz them.
