I don't expect other people to accept my opinions, or to see what I see.

I think it's when people do have those expectations that we get ship wars. Or, when people take it as a personal insult when you don't like something they do.

I find that I'll interpret fanworks according to my own headcanon quite frequently, especially if I've got slashgoggles or gengoggles pre-installed. With some pairings, unless there is actual kissing or sex going on, I'll read emotional intimacy before I'll think physical intimacy. With others, a single glance will get me going "KISS ALREADY!!!1!" How the artist has labeled the work has little to do with this.

I understand Sam's need to learn what happened and to try to make amends for things that weren't really his fault, but coming to this town wasn't really a smart idea.
