One of my friends wanted to have a birthing party. Her plan was that she'd call her friends as soon as she went into labor, and everyone would come to the birthing center and bring food and wine and have a party. We all thought this was kind of weird, but it was her third kid, so we figured she knew what she wanted by now. It turned out not happening, anyway -- she delivered the baby ten minutes after feeling her first contraction, two minutes after arriving at the birthing center.

I guess the healing can begin now.
My boss just informed me that I may have to go to training. In Toronto. In February.
Now, Tom, it could be worse.
It could be Minneapolis.
Thanks for the names, y'all! Sorry I queried and ran, but I had to go teach my last 3 classes. And, can I just say how much I really hate 6th graders at the beginning of the year?? I mean, seriously. Don't like 'em.
I think I'm gonna use the name "King Slick." It's for a character I'm adding to Schoolhouse Rock Live. He'll have the solo part for "Do The Circulation."
I have a cat who is very low maintenance but needs attention. And, I have an electric scooping litter box, so I only have to clean it once per month. No scooping. I love it muchly.
The main twice yearly conference for this field are almost always in the worst possible location for the season. Summer will be in Phoenix, SoCal or Atlanta. Winter conferences in Canada, Chicago, Boston. It's a running joke.
(It's probably related to rates, but still! Couldn't they just try to avoid the extremes a bit?)
I get to go home now!

It could be Fargo! I had to go there for business once. Only in November but still. Who was talking about being freaked out by places where everyone looks alike? I am freaked by it too and that's exactly what Fargo was. A sea of kinda pasty blonds. Nice people though.

I don't even like being a bridesmaid.
I get to go home now!
I've been home all day! Of course, I was asleep for some of it and in pain for most of the rest, but still, inside pants all day!
