Cool, First Post!
But I think both will be difficult for them. They'll probably keep on looking for some "free market" approach to health care, and haven't they pretty much burned bridges to the Hispanic community for a generation?
I think Bush tried to build a bridge to the Hispanic community, so they might revisit his approach. Health care is tough since there isn't a model out there for an effective free market health care system. Even here, the government is the biggest health care insurer.
New Thread!!!!!
And I'm second? Sweeeeeeeeeeet!!!
I get the feeling that, while McCain really *did* want to be POTUS, he didn't want to *run a campaign.* He just wanted it to happen magically.
Trying to catch up, I totally missed the end of 61*, but hey, I'm #6!
Teppy, I wanted to address this point, because I think you hit the nail on the head. This is exactly what McCain and to a lesser degree perhaps, W.'s attitudes have been all along.
As a privileged son, he had so very much just handed to him that he didn't have to actually work for and I think this is an attitude that is so core to his central being, there's no real escaping it.
What I love most about the behind the scenes election night photos are all the comments from around the world. Every one I've read has been very rah rah OBAMA!
#10!
