Because books.

Juliana forwarded this to me, from the Best Western City Center in Philly.

The Hotel can also accommodate a private Dinner Banquet for up to 70 people complete with a Dance Floor. We have various "themed" buffet selections that can accommodate all budgets.

I think that's the only decent quote she received. I can't remember if the bids from the Providence hotels are in, but this might be it for Philly if we want to vote.

Do we have any real bids from Providence? I know I saw some numbers, but I don't remember if those were actual quotes or not.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

you know, I'd almost prefer going someplace there wasn't much to do ... prevents conflicts with Buffista time

Todd has a point, sometimes I am very torn between doing stuff in the city and hanging with Buffistas. I feel like I didn't really see Seattle at all, but I don't regret it :)

Because books.

I like trying to combine them. Seeing the Winchester Mystery House and the Haight *with* Buffistas was awesome.

Yes, and Pike Place Market with the Buffistas was fun, too.

I like a good balance. I usually need a decent amount of alone time during a weekend like that, and that's when I'll usually do my exploring.

I feel like I didn't really see Seattle at all, but I don't regret it

I didn't see much of Atlanta at all, but that whole trip was so packed with new places that I liked just exploring that one area near the hotel. In Seattle, I saw a lot of the downtown area, and was really glad I did. Didn't get to some of the nearby neighborhoods at all though.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Sounds great to me, really.

And I think everyone strikes their own balance between Buffista time and tourist time. I just figure that if I like the place a lot and want to see more, I'll go back some day.
