you know, I'd almost prefer going someplace there wasn't much to do ... prevents conflicts with Buffista time
F2F5: I forget that everyone isn't us
Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon.
Todd has a point, sometimes I am very torn between doing stuff in the city and hanging with Buffistas. I feel like I didn't really see Seattle at all, but I don't regret it :)
I like trying to combine them. Seeing the Winchester Mystery House and the Haight *with* Buffistas was awesome.
Yes, and Pike Place Market with the Buffistas was fun, too.
House on the Rock.

I like a good balance. I usually need a decent amount of alone time during a weekend like that, and that's when I'll usually do my exploring.

I didn't see much of Atlanta at all, but that whole trip was so packed with new places that I liked just exploring that one area near the hotel. In Seattle, I saw a lot of the downtown area, and was really glad I did. Didn't get to some of the nearby neighborhoods at all though.
Vampire Tour!
Juliana forwarded this to me, from the Best Western City Center in Philly.
Sounds great to me, really.
And I think everyone strikes their own balance between Buffista time and tourist time. I just figure that if I like the place a lot and want to see more, I'll go back some day.
Seattle Underground! Where we are pretty sure that the ghost one of the tour guides had described seeing...was Jilli.

In a way, a city without too much exciting stuff to do is almost ideal -- one or two cool outing options, a couple of great restaurants, and the rest of the time dedicated to tiaras and watching vids and hanging out and visiting.
My favorite F2F moments are almost all little or goofy things that could happen anywhere, provided there are enough of us: the long, lazy brunch at Plei and Paul's house; bowling in tiaras; the little Quiet Corner of companionable but non-talky people that happens at every single F2F, where a little cluster of Buffistas sits peaceably reading or knitting or just nursing a mug of coffee and listening to the chatty people chat.
Though I will to the end of my days regret that I missed the House on the Rock -- it looks so freaking amazing, and even if I ever do get there in person it probably won't be with a whole gaggle of Buffistas. That missed chance still pinches a little.
