Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

amych, of course rich white men have it hard! why, they're a minority! and they pay more in taxes than, than, some people make in a year! why, they're talking about making it illegal to buy your own Member of Congress!

They want to give me a laptop at work. DO NOT WANT.

Especially since it'll most likely be a mac, making my current, ancient laptop at home seem all the more dated.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

and mother/father SHOULD come off birth certificates. parent parent parent.

Your point is valid. I hadn't thought of it that way, that the fear was equality. Didn't Kat make a similar point a few days ago?

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

And the meeting I just came out of? That's why my friends should not be jealous of my job.

yep she did. The fear has been presented as the sanctity of marriage, but that seems to be (at least for some) a thinly veiled fear of men's position as boss being challenged.

bah - I would be worse than less of a person in these people's minds they do not deserve the energy of my rage. I can focus that energy into raising a beautiful compassionate boy who loves people not types.

information libertarian

Birth certificates are weird to me. In theory, they would seem to identify the biological parents of the child (though infidelity or donor gametes on the male side, or surrogacy or donor gametes on the female side, make this dodgy already). But am I right that if you adopt a child you can have their birth certificate amended (or re-issued) to include you as the parent? I think this is what the other woman I know with an Ethiopian-born son went through.

Day 2 and I am so sick of documentation that I am glaring at all instructions, even the awesome one on vending machines about how you shouldn't accidentally kill yourself for those stuck Cheetos. I only have 7 more days to complete a rough draft of this manual and my motivation left the office early.

I got a birth certificate listing me as the only parent from Ethiopia, and I think I will get another one issued from the US when I finish the readoption.

I do not think a certificate exists with mac's birth parent information, I do not think most children in Ethiopia get them when they are born.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Money is good! Money = opportunities to stalk Gareth David Lloyd and hear him randomly talk about gay porn!

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Ooh. I have 37 cents. Is that enough?
