All right, no one's killing folk today, on account of our very tight schedule.

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Seriously, you're just going to build a giant poison-filled fishtank and not have some way to, you know, blow it up? Really?

Well, they did only have one day to build it to the aliens' specifications. But, yeah, you'd think they install a vacuum or something to quickly remove the gas, because earth's atmospheric gas would presumably kill them. But that would just be killing one alien, not scores of others up in space ready to wage war.

I was really surprised to hear about a series 4.

Has series 4 been officially commissioned? According to ComicMix, an anonymous BBC America representative confirmed it. But that's all I can find on the subject. I believe RTD has said more recently that no decision has been made yet.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

It was confirmed on the BBC Website.

And I'm not worried about them being able to bring the show back, even considering where they left Jack and Gwen.

If nothing else, there's two other Torchwood teams ... Torchwood 2, in Glasgow, "very strange man ..." and Torchwood 4, "someday we'll find them ..." I've long suspected that those two dropped references in the first episode were there in case they ever needed new team members quickly.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

And there's always Lois Habiba.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

And Mickey!

.. and even Martha. Given the right story and, of course, actor availability -- and I still can't help but suspect Martha and Mickey weren't used because RTD didn't want them in this story -- I don't see any reason why a new Torchwood couldn't be up and running very quickly.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

upthread, someone said Martha (the actress) wasn't available for CoE.

What LeN said. Freema was already previously spoken for by L&O:UK. I can see Micky's deliberate omission though.

Mickey and Doris and Gwen as the leader.

I'm a masochist because I just watched Exit Wounds (finally!) It was so hard to watch that last scene with Gwen, Jack and Ianto in the hub.

But, in the scene at the police station where Gwen is giving the marching orders to the other officers...she's a leader and even Rhys know it.

They could build a show around her. Having a baby will complicate but there are babysitters and they will need a new HQ, but it's doable.

I know RTD loves Eve Myles, but unless they're putting John Barrowman on Dr. Who I can't see them going forward on Torchwood without him.
