Pretty cool except for the part where I was really terrified and now my knees are all dizzy.

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

From a Discover Magazine interview with Ron Moore and David Eick.

Heh - that was from the panel on Monday. (Questions from the audience, not Discover magazine.)

I know too much about non-tech subsistence living to believe they're going to be happy for very long, especially without medicine and, oh, guns and just about everything else.

I figure that's why Hera specifically is "mitochondrial Eve" - nobody else lived long enough to have more kids.

The feeling among the group I watched with was that the reason everyone agreed to the "let's split up and live off the land" plan was that nobody was really listening past the "let's split up" part. After 4 years cooped up on those ships, I'd probably jump at the chance for my own continent too, whatever my chances for survivial were.

Art Crawl!!!

Yeah, I'm sure the idea of as much space as possible was extremely appealing - particularly in the bright light of day and in summer.

Come winter and/or the first large predators - I'm sure that changed pretty quickly.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

And a 150,000 years ago, there were Very Big Predators indeed, like short-faced bears and sabertooth cats. I mean, stuff that makes grown polar bears look cuddly.

At least we now know who killed off the mammoths....

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

They could have re-imagined Muffit as a cave bear!

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I have to laugh at the thought of most of these people surviving the first winter. They don't know what's safe to eat or even touch, they are apparently avoiding the locals, who could give them information (shades of the Prime Directive with all its sticky colonialistic paternalism), and they're giving up on really important knowledge and technology.

Dumb.

Also, my Tivo cut out in the scene where Bill was sitting on a hilltop talking to dead!Laura. What happened after that?

Loving all the 'that was a bad plan' realism from the Buffistas. I get the cabin fever rationalization, but no tools other than what they can carry? Whuhuh? Haven't any of them watched Earth 2, for goodness sakes? Cargo pods make efficient living quarters.

I can see not wanting to contaminate any existing cultures...ala Prime Directive...but with all the technology available, they couldn't build sensors or something?

Baltar's, "I know about farming" choke-up caught me so off guard, I sobbed out loud. Nicely done.

I agree with the dissatisfaction over the resolution of Hera's purpose upthread. It seemed as if Adama's 'she's valuable and we'll fight to the death for her (actually) was a battle cry for its own sake. Though, I suppose, if you are going to go down, might as well go down hard.

Must rewatch.

I don't suppose it matters, but I wonder if other SCC viewers thought that Derek really pulled the trigger. I'm leaning toward yes...

I think he really really wanted to, but in the end let his obedience to John overrule him. Kind of a marker of the way John's actually becoming John Connor, but one who won't think of human life as disposable or a distraction.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

As someone in my LJ pointed out, not knowing whether Jesse is dead allows them to bring her back later, and leave us unsure whether it's Jesse or a Terminator.

John really became John Conner, didn't he? Sort of a second evolution. Impressive.

That's a good thought Consuela. My only reason for my thinking he did shoot was Derek's insistance on saving John from himself...not to mention the shocking betrayl by his one true love. Then again, John figuring her scheme out, just by looking at the body, really spoke to John Conner coming into his own mind.

Oooh. When they left it open, I said to myself...she better not just show up later because they like the actor, or whatever. BUT, if the squiggly metal could become her (without skewering her...is that possible?) then that changes everything. Hmmm.
