A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
I wonder if other SCC viewers thought that Derek really pulled the trigger.
I think he really really wanted to, but in the end let his obedience to John overrule him. Kind of a marker of the way John's actually becoming John Connor, but one who won't think of human life as disposable or a distraction.
As someone in my LJ pointed out, not knowing whether Jesse is dead allows them to bring her back later, and leave us unsure whether it's Jesse or a Terminator.
John really became John Conner, didn't he? Sort of a second evolution. Impressive.
That's a good thought Consuela. My only reason for my thinking he did shoot was Derek's insistance on saving John from himself...not to mention the shocking betrayl by his one true love. Then again, John figuring her scheme out, just by looking at the body, really spoke to John Conner coming into his own mind.
leave us unsure whether it's Jesse or a Term
Oooh. When they left it open, I said to myself...she better not just show up later because they like the actor, or whatever. BUT, if the squiggly metal could become her (without skewering her...is that possible?) then that changes everything. Hmmm.
I think the metal Terminators from the movie could become pretty much anything they wanted.
And it's possible that the T2000s Have A Plan for her.
Aaaand, still not impressed by the finale of BSG.
In the end, though, Lee's flashbacks had the best narrative structure, because they bookended his relationship with Kara. Tigh and Ellen's flashbacks to him being obnoxiously drunk? Okay, there was Ellen declaring her love and wanting to be with him no matter where, just with. I could step back and say it was appropriate for the characters to be at a strip joint and annoyingly drunk, but on the whole, narratively, jarring.
Adama and Roslin was lovely, and made me cry, but I'm still wtf over him going off forever to die alone and never see his son again.
NOBODY HAS SUPPLIES!!!! I think Baltar had the biggest rucksack.
There were so many things that didn't work, and hearing Ron Moore in The Last Frakkin' Special describe his trouble over the plot, and then happily declaring "we don't need a plot, it's about the characters!" makes me want him to turn blue. So many moments during the action where I was "wait, how did they get there? How did the fleet know of Kara's super seekrit Bob Dylan coordinates? Why didn't they do this before and then immediately do that after?!" And then the quieter "character" moments were so disjointed and left me cold.
Also, where was Adama and Saul's goodbye? Huh? HUH?!
Also, everytime I see Helo and then Ballard, I'm amazed at how charming and likeable and dynamic Helo is, and how flat and flat and flat Ballard is.
Also, Helo lives!
Also, really pissed that Athena's emotional rollercoaster went from "depressed, angry, given up, why bother, Hera's already dead" to a very sane, calm involvement with the rescue mission, to broken again, to blissful. I just, that depth of despair and betrayal and hopelessness, to have no scars or residual damage... But it's all about the characters so we won't see that shit.
How did the fleet know of Kara's super seekrit Bob Dylan coordinates?
While the crew were lying in the tall grass watching the natives with binocs, the short-lived Admiral of the basestar (can't remember his name) did mention that he was relieved to see the recon ship appearing out of jump at the fleet.
That was one of the plot points that was at least covered, but it was a sneeze-and-you'll-miss-it comment.
but I'm still wtf over him going off forever to die alone and never see his son again.
I felt rather bad for Lee. His dad takes off then Kara takes off.
