A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
I was directed to this page in the AfterElton slash tourney because it has D/C on it, but...I can't vote for nu!Kirk/Spock over TOS Kirk/Spock. That seems so unfair.
Everything else (on that page) was an easy vote, just to try and not show up just for my OTP.
The Firefly slash pairing in that tourney is Simon/Mal. Was that a thing?
It was kinda *my* thing, in a small way, not that I stumbled across very many (or good) writings of that pairing. Mal/Jayne and Jayne/Simon was bigger.
Mal/Jayne and Jayne/Simon
They seem like they would be more obvious pairings to me.
Why does Jayne get all the ass action?
I'm actually going to vote Mal/Simon as more interesting than Simon/Jayne, for sure. Jury's out on Mal/Jayne.
I liked the new Trek movie plenty, but and I really don't like Shatner, but I just can't vote for recent K/S over the original version. It just seems...heretical.
Putting Destiel against Wincest is tidy, and cruel.
I think maybe because Jayne fucking anybody seems like an easy way to go? Jayne likes sex. Jayne will have teh sex with anyone you want, including River and Kaylee. I liked the Mal/Simon for the butting of heads between two completely different types of type A personalities.
But...who has sex with Jayne? That makes even less sense than Derek, because he's not that cute.
But...who has sex with Jayne?
The same people that he's having sex with? I never thought it was because of his cuteness, but because the authors were lazy and thought that they didn't need to come up with reasons why Jayne would dominate someone for his own personal benefit, so they only had to justify the second part of the equation. But FF was my first foray into slash, so my memory is skewed by lack of perspective and broader knowledge.
My Jayne would have been the momma's boy who only took willing partner's with no coersion of his own (no dominating brute in sight), my Simon would have been a bossy bottom who held all the power in his relationship with Mal.
Mal/Simon was certainly not as popular as I would have liked.
Well, I figure if your personality isn't worth shagging, either your face or your genitalia must be. And Jayne's obviously striking out on one, likely to strike out on the second, and by that time, I'm not interested in the third.
Sure, I can visualise the scenario in which Mal ties him up and gets up close and personal with the chain of command, but I have funner things in my brain to play with.
Mal giving over power to Simon wouldn't do much for me either. Wash in some strange world, or Book, before that, to me.
