Well, that's a quick exposure & resolution of Tarrlock's story. Huh.
Lin certainly is a badass.
I was halfway expecting Korra to try to metal-bend her way out of the box, but I guess that's too obvious. Her solution was pretty smart, though.
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

I understand that randomly peeking in is no guarantee you'll get to see the trademark personality of a show nor the essence of the relationship between the primary players (see SPN S4, for starters). But I'm onto the second (non-sequential) episode of Merlin, and do these guys even like each other a little? Is Arthur always this douchey? Merlin such a doormat?
I'm watching S2 ep1, and their relationship seems fragile enough that Arthur would fire Merlin. What's it usually like?
And Sokka addressed Kalshane's point about bloodbending! Sort of. Also, there was no light show when Aang took Yakone's bending away, so...maybe Amon really is spiritbending after all.
Sort of.
Aang touched head and heart, though. Not head and back of the neck, like Amon does. I still think he's doing something different.
Still getting annoying DBZ-vibe. "OMG, Tarrlock is a Super Blood-bender! Look how scary he is! OMG, Amon is immune to Tarrlock's blood bending! Look how scary he is!"
Don't get me wrong, I'm still enjoying the show immensely, just not caring for the constant power escalation.
In conclusion, Lin Bei Fong is a supreme badass.
I don't think you'll find any arguments with that statement.
What's it usually like?
Goofy?
The show, or their relationship?
Both. It tries to pretend to be serious, but mostly it makes me laugh. And go "aw", but I'm already invested.
From watching this episode it seems like Merlin is a lapdog and Arthur is an asshole. Do they get some sort of emotional parity, or does this status different characterise them?
Arthur is mostly always an asshole to Merlin, except when he's not, but it's a kind of "I abuse you because I love you" thing.
I don't think I could take it. That whole HE'S MERLIN!!!! thing is too distracting. The urge to slap Arthur--v. v. strong.

I haven't watched since S1, but I think you're supposed to want to slap Arthur. The premise seemed to be that Merlin is going to turn him into a good king.
