No studying? Damn! Next thing they'll tell me is I'll have to eat jelly doughnuts or sleep with a supermodel to get things done around here. I ask you, how much can one man give?

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

From watching this episode it seems like Merlin is a lapdog and Arthur is an asshole. Do they get some sort of emotional parity, or does this status different characterise them?

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Arthur is mostly always an asshole to Merlin, except when he's not, but it's a kind of "I abuse you because I love you" thing.

I don't think I could take it. That whole HE'S MERLIN!!!! thing is too distracting. The urge to slap Arthur--v. v. strong.

I haven't watched since S1, but I think you're supposed to want to slap Arthur. The premise seemed to be that Merlin is going to turn him into a good king.

I don't think you're supposed to slap him like I want to. Maybe because I would want to slap Merlin too for putting up with it. But bec assure he has a responsibility, I guess, to be the adult one because he understands what's at stake. I've always hated the trope, and if it's still extant in the second session, I doubt it is the show for me.

Wow indeed. Except I don't think I need to own SG-1 in its entirety.

Compassionately intolerant

Thanks for the link ita !

I've been wanting SG-1 for a long time but could not justify the cost. Roughly 6 bucks per season, plus the extras makes me pretty happy.

Huh. I'd wondered if Derek was ever going to be interested in recruiting a woman. Who knew he could actually be smooth and seductive if he wanted to?

Eureka: Fargo! You know your girlfriend is stuck in a virtual space which limits her lifespan to days or weeks. And you don't call in your super-hacker for help right away? Zane already knows about her existence and location, and basically everything he needs if he has bad intentions, and you waste time deciding whether to *trust* him with the info he needs to help? Also, Fargo, do you really think you not share the info with Holly about how much danger she is in? Maybe she can contribute to the solution. At the very least, she may have different ideas than you do about how to spend what may be her last few days of existence .
