A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

What's it usually like?

Goofy?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The show, or their relationship?

Both. It tries to pretend to be serious, but mostly it makes me laugh. And go "aw", but I'm already invested.

From watching this episode it seems like Merlin is a lapdog and Arthur is an asshole. Do they get some sort of emotional parity, or does this status different characterise them?

Arthur is mostly always an asshole to Merlin, except when he's not, but it's a kind of "I abuse you because I love you" thing.

I don't think I could take it. That whole HE'S MERLIN!!!! thing is too distracting. The urge to slap Arthur--v. v. strong.

I haven't watched since S1, but I think you're supposed to want to slap Arthur. The premise seemed to be that Merlin is going to turn him into a good king.

I don't think you're supposed to slap him like I want to. Maybe because I would want to slap Merlin too for putting up with it. But bec assure he has a responsibility, I guess, to be the adult one because he understands what's at stake. I've always hated the trope, and if it's still extant in the second session, I doubt it is the show for me.

Wow. All of SG1 on deep discount.

Wow indeed. Except I don't think I need to own SG-1 in its entirety.
